What is better than meeting our lovely Ambleside customers? Meeting our Ambleside customers and their lovely dogs!
Last week we welcomed illustrator Kate Sutton into our Ambleside store for two days of pawsome Speedy Pet Portraits. There was a waggy-tailed queue around the block as Ambleside’s finest pooches lined up to pose for Kate.
“I love my portrait so much,” woofed labrador retriever Fred. “It will be the perfect gift for my master.”
In just 20 minutes Kate was able to draw amazing portraits – either from life or from a photo. From Bella the French Bulldog to Marley the Labradoodle, Kate created over 30 pet portraits in her pop-up studio in the window of our Ambleside shop. How much is that doggy doodle in the window? Just £30 for a unique gift!
And it wasn’t just poodle doodles – Kate also drew pussy portraits (from photographs to avoid in-store cat and dog chaos) and next time is looking forward to extending her pet repertoire. “I am hoping for a sheep or a cow or even a turtle,” she said.
Kate and her Speedy Pet Portraits will be returning to our Ambleside store very soon. In the meantime we we are left with happy memories, some brilliant portraits and a very hairy shop.
