Hello! I’m Ian and I started National Park Print Shop to share my love of printmaking and the outdoors.
I’m very lucky to have spent large chunks of my life on adventures; mainly riding my bicycle long distance and across countries. Those times led me to understand that any time spent outdoors is time well spent. Adventure, travel and nature - these are things that inspire us and lead to a richer life.
Adventurous Minds Need Adventurous Prints
Me and my partner moved from the city to the Lake District in 2017. When setting up our new home, we wanted to fill the walls with bold and playful art rather than the usual 'vintage' travel posters. It was this adventure to fill our home with joyful prints that led to becoming immersed in this incredible world of independent artists and illustrators.
I also fell in love with the printmaking process itself - particularly, Riso printing. Riso is a process similar to screenprinting. It uses a process of stencils and rotating ink drums, where you can build overlapping layers of ink to create fantastic artwork that is full of character and unique charm.
From there, I took a leap. I quit my corporate office job, took up Riso printing and started a business. Life is nothing without such great adventures.
If you have any questions or feedback, please do email me and say hello.
