Tips to beat the winter blues at home.

A lot of us slow down in the autumn and winter months, spending more time inside as the nights draw in. But dark nights don’t have to mean winter blues. Creating your very own cosy space that feels warm and welcoming to return to at the end of a day out in the elements is something to enjoy throughout these harsher seasons.

There are so many ways to refresh your interiors for a new season (and you don’t even need to take on any big projects to make it happen). A simple switch up of your decor can be enough to make your home feel like a new, more interesting and special place to be.

Switching art out with the seasons For example, displaying your favourite flowers in the spring, or a scene that reminds you of what there is to be excited about for winter, gives our brains something unexpected to take in and some fun colour to get through the greyer days.

If winter feels dull and sad, you might want something to remind you of the sunny days that lay on the horizon.

Bring a little hygge into our homes with cosy lighting; fairy lights, candles and warm lamps, can help ward off the winter blues. Colour-changing LED bulbs that switch from daylight (to make the days feel longer) to a transcendent pink in the evening, might help us adjust for a better night’s sleep.

Don’t forget to invite lots of loved ones around so that you can stave off any SAD, enjoy good food, and appreciate your special space together.
